You Were My Mirror Poem by Aamir Hussain

You Were My Mirror

Rating: 4.8

Before a cloud started fleeing from your sky
And before the night robbed you of all your stars
You were more than a scream lurking
beneath the howling of wolves
and neighing of horses
Before an illusory breeze shook your curtains,
you paid no attention
to rustling of leaves
in rain
Or the cry that burst forth
from your bony cage
O' quivering, reclusive lump,
you were my mirror
before the shards!
