You Will Never Be Mine... Poem by Dez Clark

You Will Never Be Mine...

Falling for you is oh so awful,
Noone saw this coming.
But I fell for you afraid to get up,
I wish I headed my mother's warning.
Beautiful skies and rays of sunshine
Is all that I can see.
Your perfect face surrounded by pink butterflies,
I don't know what had gotten into me.
Dreaming of us beside the campfire
Full of compassion
Listening to your old guitar
And the melody's sweet satisfaction.
But too bad,
It's just a dream
And I haven't figured it out yet,
If you know what I mean.
I walk up to you
With a sweet and simple smirk
And gaining full confidence,
Thinking this might work.
I tell you that I love you
And show you that I care,
But you fooled me this time,
And ripped my heart open bare.
So now everytime I hear your voice,
I'm going to cry.
And remember the words you left me with,
'You'll never be mine...'
