You Will Never Forget Poem by Joy Powell

You Will Never Forget

Rating: 4.0

The only one who loved you
who could have given you the world …
But you grew tired of waiting…
I told you I was not ready in the beginning
yet you pursued thinking you could
mend a heart you did not break …
Now…
I walk the shores and mourn a love
that has no hope to bear
know this my love that you are still loved
and will be thought of out there
where the world is still turning where changes make a day
where there’s sand beneath my feet and the setting of the sun
sadly enough you were the only one
that came close enough to my heart
