Young Blood Draw - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Young rhino, Romeo, does need
From time to time to have blood drawn
For checking out his health indeed,
And so some training has gone on.
Romeo does walk to a spot,
And does hold his back leg so that
The draw is taken from the tot.
Mom stays close in the habitat.
It is a voluntary thing
With positive reinforcement,
And quite a healthful happening
With Romeo's and Mom's consent.

Young Romeo really comes through
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo.
