Your Child, After You Poem by Randy McClave

Your Child, After You

Your child curses because of you
And your child drinks and smokes because of you too,
He is also a racist and a bigot
Because he heard and seen you speak proudly of it.
Unto all women he is an abuser
Because he remembers his mother and how you beat and used her,
And he spreads lies and gossip and even a hateful rumor
He even hates the poor and the needy with an uncaring humor.
He despises all immigrants and even every foreigner
And he even hates that hungry beggar on the street corner,
And your child also screams out that he is a Christian
Though like you he is not, but he likes it when his friends listen.
He listens and believes in propaganda and lies
Even when the truth is presented to his very eyes,
And he also always holds unto a grudge
Because he remembers you did, when you did falsely judge.
He still remembers your idols who you placed on the highest perch
And how you never followed the Bible, or ever went to church,
So, the way that your child turned out are you proud and glad;
If that was my child, I would be sick and mad.
