Your Eyes Poem by Modupeola Williams

Your Eyes

Your eyes hypnotise me
They make it hard to move
I want to look away, for they seem to know all my secrets,
my innermost thoughts
I feel naked before you
Exposed
Undone
Yet i do not look away
Why must you look at me?
I am frozen in blue crystal, that shimmers even in the dimmest light
Beautiful, yet piercing
Why must you look at me?
But a part of me does not want you to look away
When the moment passes and i am released from your spell
My heart hopes that you look at me as i walk away
Or that your back is turned, that i may look at you without coming undone
I always wonder, why must you look at me?
But i am always facinated, by your eyes
