YOUR HAIR DREAMS Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Your hair
(fine as a baby’s fine)

so soft
softly

your hair
falls asleep

before the rest
of you.

Your hair
dreams of being

stroked
caressed.

The rest of you
follows suit

& soon

all of you
is sleeping.

Your hair
dreaming of my hands.

Your body
dreaming of my hands.

Dream & Reality
merging.
