Your Memory Poem by Edwina Reizer

Your Memory

Am I still the same to you
and how can that be?
It must lie forever
in the strength of your memory.
For the countless days
have changed me, my love
in so many countless ways.
I no longer can step quickly
nor light up any room.
No longer can I know
the feeling that awakens me
like a flower that's in bloom.

And yet I know that you still
see me as before,
a young and lithesome girl
that's always ready to exp; ore
the depths of my feelings
for all I hold dear.
The strength of your memory of me
will wane, I fear
and then what will I do?
I will be a bewildered wretch
lost in this lonesome place
all because of you
and a memory that's been erased.
