Your Spouse… Poem by Dr John Celes

O what a lovely person, your spouse is!
He or she was made by God, just for you;
And what a wonderful companion,
United by God for life are souls two!

The beauty of your spouse is tremendous;
Two souls are blessed to walk the righteous path;
Heaven is nigh when two persons can pray;
Assured them places in heaven, God hath.

No force can put them asunder on earth;
The two have one mind, heart though two bodies;
Blessed are they specially ev’r since birth;
Never deride your spouse when things go wrong.

Two souls can aid each other in bad times;
A source of consolation, each one is;
Being alone isn’t good for man, woman;
God gives the family, His incessant bliss.

Matrimony is sacred in God’s eyes –
A sacrament that helps us reach the Rock;
Though crosses come, the joys are rather nice;
The two are made so apt like key and lock!
