Don'T You Know? Poem by Matthew Edan Oliver Palma

Don'T You Know?

Don't you know it's me you're hurting
Everytime you say he's good for nothing
Don't you know he's my reason for living
The reason why I still am breathing

Why can't you let me be deciding
I'm the one whose heart is aching
Everytime he goes around playing
Let me decide to hold up or go breaking

Don't you know it's me you're attacking
Each and every time you question his feelings
Don't you know that with him I have something
The one thing that I'm wanting and needing

Why can't you just be approving
Be glad for my heart that is happ'ly rejoicing
Believe in the truth of the joy you are seeing
Respect this decision that I am now making

Don't you know he's my reason for breathing
So don't you dare say that he's good for nothing
Don't you realize he's my reason for loving?
The why and wherefore I am again living!
