Just The Two Of Us Poem by Susan Alldred Lugton

Just The Two Of Us

That's where it all began,
just the two of us,
a babe in mothers arms.
Then little brother came
with all his smiling charms
such a special little man.

Now there are more than two,
even three or four.
No longer a princess
sharing my mother's soul,
not her only success,
her heart I cannot woo.

I wish I could go back
just the two of us.
That dreamy special space
with her eyes just for me,
together face to face.
So dream and dream I will,
but never fill the lack.
