I said a prayer for you in church today
You've been through so much,
for someone so young
my heart goes out for you
You said don't feel sorry for you
Why did you say that?
As if it was important somehow
I do feel sorry, but maybe that's the wrong word
Its just he one that come to my lips
to take your pain away
Your circumstance seems unfair to me
Unfairness is something I often see
But seeing it's effect on you
I feel your hurt
Does a prayer reach God?
I was wondering if this one did
I felt my eyes get moist
as I looked up at the cross
Please help her...
She's a good girl
She's had it so hard
Please help her to heal
In that moment
I felt a calm come over me
I had felt helpless to help you
But saying the prayer helped me realize
Its because you're a good girl
with a heart that cares
but has lost it's hope
and has lost it's way
I said a prayer for you in church today
