The One That Got Away Poem by Not Long Left

The One That Got Away

Rating: 5.0

And now father
in this passive
state of acceptance
I can finnally feel
what you felt.

The wedding pictures
that sit neatly upon the
top of the piano
seem so different now.
It wasn't the white of
her dress that made you frown.

Above you the figure
on the wooden crucifix
was not the only one
crying regret.

Powerful, 'wow' Sometimes I wonder how mere words can make you feel so..

Divorce is a form of grief in my book Vincent. Creating the most challenging emotions to negotiate, I believe human kind can ever face. Loss and rejection. Excellent write. Tai
