The Only Ones Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

The Only Ones

Are the only ones,
Who have welcomed truth.
Not observed among the others,
Attacking themselves.
Unconscious of the act.
Living lives absent of facts.
With a refusing of this evil.
And the medieval ways this is done.
Doing to prove,
Minds they do not use.

Are the only ones,
Who have welcomed to experience truth.
Not among the ones,
Uniting together...
Seeking remedies to reduce,
A negativity upon themselves...
They sought to produce.
As if seduced by its effects.
And yet...
Expect a glowing of empathy to receive.
To continue to disbelieve,
No one but themselves...
Remain to be their own worse enemies.
With a staying to choose delusion,
Over truth and reality.
