Torch Song Poem by Upendra Majhi

Torch Song

Rating: 5.0

I sang a torch song,
while you held a torchfocussing on my face,
to show the world depth of lamenting of my unrequited love,
I was not a great singer,
but a large crowd gathered at that late hour,
it being night and silent
and my song heard ina fifty metre radius.
You stopped the light,
my song rose in scale and pitch
in the dark,
and became a torchbearer for all my songs.

Terrific expression. No need to worry when you can lead the way with resilience. Thanks a lot. to show the world depth of lamenting of my unrequited love, my song rose in scale and pitch.... in the dark, and became a torchbearer for all my songs.
