Vietnam Poem by Tan Pratonix

Vietnam

Rating: 5.0

In my heart I heard
The cry of a child,
In my mind
The shriek of the damned,
As I walked
Through the swamp
With a pack
On my back
And a bayonet
In my hand.

I have never experienced a war zone. I can only imagine the cry of your own heart as you fought and watched others die, regardless which side of the battle.
