Wake Up Time
WAKE UP TIME
To condemn those who embrace evil
Is the duty of each one of us.
History tells us that Silence will
End with loss of our Freedom so precious.
To accept wrong teachings is blindness,
To deny the truth which actions prove,
Is a delusion at best and a weakness
A distorted view of God above.
A rabid dog is a rabid dog still,
Though its cared for and lovingly fed.
If we let it in for sure it will
Attack, mutilate, leave us dead.
The root of this all is what is taught -
What is fed in the mind of believers.
If religion kills and jihad is sought
We can't close our eyes to these murders.
What group of people believe in jihad?
The killing of us who do not join them?
To deny this reality is rather very sad
It's an insult to the innocent victims.

line 8 it's a serious topic, well-covered in a short, well-written poem. but the problem is. like many, i suppose too difficult to completely solve. ; ( unless God really DOES exist and does something drastic! i read some of yours years ago and have at least one in MyPoemList from 2012. i think i'll use it, with your name on it, in my/our May showcase, a monthly display of poems i put on my PH site. if you object, please let me know.
