Optimism is my gift:
even in the darkest of times
my eyes scope out that which for others
goes unseen, a miniscule crack in the corner of the room
shedding a single spade of light -
that little bit, is all I need
Hope that small, can move mountains
never losing sight of the light,
working my way towards it, groping about in the darkness,
though I may stumble and fall, I'll get there
and with optimism and hope in tow,
I'll bash through the walls of desolation;
I'll sternly grab hold of my dreams!
What a great piece sometimes that little ray of light is what keeps us going and you expressed this so well in your poem thanks Enjoyed

I'LL STERNLY GRAB HOLD OF MY DREAMS - Both adverb and verb are especially strong, putting force where it should be in service to goodness and dream. You are not waiting passively for your dream to be fulfilled by an outside force, but resolutely taking charge and embodying the dream in yourself. And all of this force and purpose goes back to your resolution to be optimistic - it's all based on an attitude of mind which mysteriously provides the energy needed to change reality. I find it very convincing. And those who have given up Hope and this effort at realizing dreams, well, you'll set them straight, because all of us have to carry the weight. A stirring poem, Nika! !
