What Do You Know? Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

What Do You Know?

Rating: 4.5

You think you know what is true.
You presume to know the whole story.
Your assumption is very declaratory.

You have add all the bits and pieces.
And come to a conclusion.
Too bad the result is an illusion.

There is no other possibility that you know.
As time passes your version becomes fact.
With reassurance you keep beliefs intact.

Suddenly one day your world is reversed.
What you thought was rational to conclude.
It was positively and absolutely misconstrued.

The foundation for the novel that you wrote
Began with a premise based on confusion.
Resulting in a hypothetical false conclusion.

Eventually you discovered more information.
Now the all the missing pieces are in view.
A lifetime was based on something untrue.
