Anna Atchison Poems

My mothers' perfume.
The scents throughout the day are wondrous,
And not at all like fungus.
Filled with love and delight,
...

The fire upon the ground burns me as I walk
I now realize,
The world is not as everyone has made me seem.
So much pain,
...

You sit here and yell at me saying I'm full of lies.
I stand here and scream back more,
One after another.
I can't escape the dark place I'm in.
...

I seek for attention that I didn't get from you,
Attention that actually made a positive difference.
Abused and hurt is all I ever felt.
You bruised me and broke me,
...

Sometimes,
When I drift away at night,
And see the pretty lights,
I think to myself,
...

Unwanted, Hated.
Mistreated, Misjudged.
All so Cruel with no one there.
The world so unfair.
...

I still love you,
But you have her & I have him.
I don't know what to do.
I'm lost & drained.
...

You look at her in disgust.
Your eyes fill with hate and you just want to faint.
She isn't who you want to see,
She isn't the person you think she should be.

Mothers' Perfume

My mothers' perfume.
The scents throughout the day are wondrous,
And not at all like fungus.
Filled with love and delight,
Sometimes reminding me of campsites.
My mothers' perfume.
Keeping me calm through the rain,
And not causing me pain.
My mothers' perfume,
Is what keeps me happy at night,
When I wrap up tight.
