Under the moon of a clear summer night
With distance between them two lovers take flight
Their hearts intertwined without explanation
Their souls tuned in like a radio station
...

Deep inside the darkened space my mind’s been known to go,
I’ve recently remembered all the love I used to know;
It seems that all that time has done is to solidify this place,
This warm, inviting, summer night where I last beheld your face;
...

The demons that surround me are growing thicker everyday
They circle and they laugh and crawl inside my head to play
Im tortured by the silence of being lonely in my mind
Yet not a single moment that has any quiet can i find

My love for you still burns beneath the dying branches of our past, calmly waiting for the rain to fall, to wash clean my world and pass.
Like a breeze, your voice blows by and brings it back to life, with each word, each thought, each day the fire continues to grow bright.
With just a glance your eyes will move the flame within my heart, forcing my entire mind to know how long we’ve been apart.
Like lightning crashing through the sky my soul gives off a light, that’s so intense with heat that even the sun would call it bright.

In everything I’ve ever said, everything I’ve ever done;
I lied to you, I lied to me, I lied to our newborn son;
I promised I’d be there for you no matter what may be;
I failed to truly follow through, I failed to really see;
...

With shining eyes she looks upon him;
Her lips wet and soft she smiles;
He feels his heart melt as the heat between them burns like lava;
His skin tingles beneath her velvet touch;

Tears like a waterfall cover my face;
My mind races around a hundred things only to find one thought;
Her body, her smile, her soul, in his hands;
Hearing her moan and cry for more, of him;
...

I once knew a man with a life of stories to share;
But none he’d ever tell you;
For him, they weren’t actually there;
Though decorated proudly, much more than twice;

A place I feel I’m supposed to be,
A Life I feel I’m supposed to live,
My lungs fill with stagnant air,
The feeling of loss overwhelms me, …

I hate the world…
I long for the opportunity to let it all go…
I carry so much pain, so much guilt for the life I’ve lived,
Yet I believe I have no chance for redemption…
...

I just want to love someone with everything I am.
I just want to know that the person I’m with isn’t settling for me.
I just want to be free with my emotions whatever they may be.
I just want her to do the same, and be happy.
...

Underneath a moonlit sky,
An Angel did so catch my eye;
That my heart did begin to beatin,
And I could feel my body weaken;
...

In the breeze of a summer's night two hearts become one;
Amidst the light of the moon their eyes will meet;
Her silken touch; glistening lips; and that twinkle in her eyes;
The air grows thick with the energy of their souls reaching out for one another;
...

It’s in the deepest caverns of a lost and lonely heart;
That you will find the love you feel was quickly torn apart;
I only hope that you believe the words I share with you;
So you will know and maybe see my love is here and true;

Clayton Anderson Biography

I really don't have much of a BIO. I started writing relatively late in life as part of dealing with life when it became too much for me. Not everything can honestly be considered a poem I guess, but I'm sure you'll let me know all about that, lol. As of the date this account was created I submitted my newest poem first, everything after that until notified will be the stuff from my past I want on this account. Thank you for taking the time to read my stuff, and I do appreciate your responses.)

Summer Moon

Under the moon of a clear summer night
With distance between them two lovers take flight
Their hearts intertwined without explanation
Their souls tuned in like a radio station
She sweetly speaks, with a twang in her voice
He tries to play calm, but his minds made a choice
She hides in the shadows of walls he can't see
He reaches for her almost effortlessly
They are seemingly pulled, as if drawn together
They speak of the future as if connected forever
She feels his words touch her, his arms closing in
He speaks without caution 'cause he knows she's for him
And under the glow of a warm summer moon
They promise to be with each other soon.
