Bri Edwards Friend Poems

[[I was reading aloud but my wife said “No more”;
no more because I’d admitted my throat was sore.
She filled a tiny glass and said “Gargle with Echinacea”;
and “Stay out of cold office, ...... though the computer might please ya.”
...

NO lowly frog ‘prince’ am I, my dear,
but a KING! Have I made that clear! ?
AND I’m not so lonely as you may think,
as little female frogs lead me to the brink …
...

Yes, I'm a PoemHunter Poetry-"Pro",
prostituting myself for you Readers, all.
I work my ass off from the word "go",
wishing that my Showcases do not fall....
...

Chandan, I doubt I've ever thought of "it" this way before,
but you've asked who's my '"best friend" & here's 'the score'.:

Normally I'd say a high school friend, Karl; he lives now in Bangkok,
...

Gather 'round, Children, and Bri shall tell you a tale...
about a Cat which, since birth, had no hair on its tail.
Oh, it HAD a tail, but it was a tail like that on a Snake,
and no hair did the cat's tail have, but still it did shake.
...

Some do call them 'Katydid', others may say: Katy Did Not!
Best known as 'Mormon Cricket', watch your step ** IF......
one you SPOT....,
'spot', as in 'SEE') , because, IF there's one, there may be a lot!
...

These days NOTHING "beats" me; years ago it was NOT true.
My Mom whacked me all about till I, her son, was black & blue!

My younger, yet much BIGGER, brother stomped on me good,
...

Many know the story of King Kong and his death;
kidnapped from Skull Island, he had his last breath
…as bullets from planes killed him in New York City
…where he'd been put on display. It was a City pity.
...

To write "About Me", assignment # 1, for …
her ‘advanced' herb class teacher,
Aki thought of her youth in postwar Japan …
and the decades since, thus to reach her ….
...

In the seemingly-"calm" years in Japan, Aki was born in '49.
Her mother & her father had two sons by that post-war time.
At a "nearby shrine", Aki saw white-clad veterans ring bells as they begged,
some missing "parts of their face", and/or limb(s)e.g. arm(s)or leg(s) .

Bri's Scrambled-Letters Quiz & My Regards To A Friend

There are hidden names to be found.
Just stop a moment and look around.
Some names are hidden in plain sight.
Some, to find, may take YOU all night!
...

I WAS JUST encountering "leisure", .....SO boring!
'Twas while sitting in a 'comfy' stuffed chair (snoring?) .
[I don't know for sure about THAT line-ending part:
"snoring", but I may have been.Ain't THAT boring! ?
...

I made a Friend, a Skinny Cannibal.
Now I KNOW why Teachers called me a Dunce.

I went for a Meal at my New Friend's Home.
...

Limping, nay, crawling towards her garden ……(
...half-DEAD) , [ the garden! ],
Carmi, in her overalls & floppy hat, to Bri said:
"Bri, old friend, bring my tools behind me now;

If I compare Akhtar to a mere ball of string....,
what fine visions would it, to me, then bring?
A well-rounded fellow to be sure...; it's true!
He's one who gives and gives to me and you...,

poem to follow.....?

Here go my 10 fingers, furiously-flying,
...

I'll NOT be, by the world, oppressed,
but perhaps at times a bit depressed.
I did not know the world has a tongue,
but it's welcome to speed my 'parting'.
...

When two spouses should share responsibility,
but one does the work of not 1 or 2, but 3....,
the "one" someday may finally realize....
it's time to turn around & open eyes,
...

I've not been beaten up today,
but still I don't always get my way.
No ice cream, today, have I had,
'cause I've not been good, but BAD!

Peanut Butter: My Old Friend.....[personal; Food]

I had a peanut butter sandwich today
which made me think of all the way....
sssss my life has been touched by that
stick-to-your-mouth sludge of peanut fat.
...

I had five fingers left till I made my first cut.
Then four fingers left, and I said 'So what? '.
I thought three would let me finish that job,
Then 'OFF', the saw, my middle finger did lob.
...

When at my mirrored-belly I look,
I remember what my wife does cook.
Or should I have said “does bake”?
Like each pie, croissant, and cake!
...

Hang tough, though obstacles may seem rough.
I think you're up to the challenges, 'up to snuff'**.

Ok! Maybe you're better, yes, than 'up to snuff',
...

I enjoy seeing birds at our backyard feeder,
And, from bushes and trees, hearing some birds that 'tweeeeeter'.

Tiny black seeds attract finches, which have the name ‘gold'....
...

Our love was quite different;
it almost ….did not exist.
But I still said 'I love you, Dear',
‘cause it's what she did insist …
...

It's not too unlike a smoking gun,
bringing death with the setting sun.
I don't ever smoke cigar or cigarette,
but my brain may smoke when I am upset.
...

I've got a friend; his name is "Bill"; in truth he's Willard.
He grew up where there could be a cold and snowy blizzard.
Now he lives in the far off tropic isle of Fiji....
where all precipitation is wiped off with a squeegee.
...

Last night I swear I left the chimney flue open,
and ALL night long, for gifts, I SO MUCH was hopin'!
But each time I got up to the bathroom to pee...
I found not a single wrapped gift...about the tree!
...

His wife adjusted his tie;
Manu finished his mango pie.
He grabbed an Espresso-to-go,
and settled into his Ferrari with a sigh.

now that we're getting well on in years,
there's a pox which to some brings tears.
it's several conditions, all called dementia.
and i say this to it: 'who the hell sent ya?

'Captain A' met two 'good boyz'.
Mahdi: physics expert; loves computer toys.

To pick nits can mean to remove eggs of lice from human hair,
and I believe Andy's ‘Nitpicker‘ word may come from ‘there'.
Nits are very tiny, and a nitpicker points out some ‘tiny faults',
like a misspelling in a poem, amounting to, for some, insults.

THE BARNYARD CAT

What good, Bill, will Harvard do me NOW.?

where His life would lead Him would be …..a shock.
Or ….did He know already?

"Friend, as we near Thanksgiving Day,
I wish YOU peace the rest of your stay …..
on this Earth.

I've a little PH friend by name of Goldheart Bird,
who sometimes, it seems, misspells every word.
Of course that is an exaggeration huge,
but, without cheating, i challenge her.....to spell luge.
...

Ah! the joys of tramping along a country pathway on a sunny day.
It’s Autumn and Indian Summer warms you..... all along the way.
Here and there you spot a bird, though they’re not singing as in the
Spring.
...

I wonder: 'Is my PH friend Lynn still kickin'?
Is he alive though he's now takin' a big-C lickin'?
Has he lost part of tongue? Does the plot thickin'?
All I know is.....my friend Lynn is NO damn chicken! ! !

Goldheart Bird is this youngster’s lovely poetic-online-name,
but someday she may be better known for her violin-playing fame.
Right now I tease her, a little bit, about her “poor”.... spelling,
but she may scoff at me, judiciously, when her career does get gelling.
