Ibnu Din Assingkiri Poems

1.

When pieces of my tainted life
scattered in the ocean of uncertain
I drifted in darkness without a pin of light
lost in a world of confusion
...

(My Wife, Noriati)

Your eyes bid farewell to my mornings
Like half-blooming Morning Glories
...

If saree caught on a thorns
even gentle pull is damaging
hard snap will ripped apart.

My teacher used to say,
Person who is problematic
Is a magnet for troubles

The footprint traces
Vanished by pounding
Waves. Was the tiredness
Of journey wasted without
...

In the jungle of life
There were many silt trails
I sunk to the bottom
Of the tricky mud
...

Frogs sing lullaby
Noise whacking the rainy night
Inspiration snooze
...

I
I ran out of ink
from the cabinet of words
per cup, I explain
...

Jealousy,
is it necessary?
or need not worry
even seems so silly
...

In my small world
Urgency is not priority
Troublesome, why hurry?
Have some coffee and poetry
...

O young girl,
Do not asked why
I forgot
Because I forgot
...

Somehow at
Increasingly dimmed dusk
We are still in the morning
Jumping around asking for milk
...

An old tree with dusk leaves on the edge of
Ageing horizon beneath gloomy sky
Eyeing flock of swallows in a pattern of
Arrow shooting straight into the hill high
...

While in the midst of
Enjoying the delicacy
In a surreal-mystical dish
Of literary culinary
...

Strong gripping claws cling
Hanged on a bamboo swing
A charming rock magpie
In a cage so beautiful
...

After lingering,
Sleepiness is outstretched
As fluffy,
Pink pillow with

You sounded like flies
in a big bottle half full
searching for exit.

Rain sings on the zinc roof
Unlike barking dog: Woof! Woof! Woof!
Like warm hug and mother’s pat
It whispers in my ears: Pat! Pat! Pat!

The Best Poem Of Ibnu Din Assingkiri

Blind

When pieces of my tainted life
scattered in the ocean of uncertain
I drifted in darkness without a pin of light
lost in a world of confusion
hope is thinning away
to see yet another bright shiny day

Cleaning my dirt with a shower of tears
just to see a black dot of embedded guilt
deep inside my naked heart
the shadow of negligence, dancing without rhythm
laughing at my face;
my bloody little faith

Throw me your anger oh My Beloved
I deserved to be warned,
for forgetting the smell of your Garden
and the punishment of the Great Fire,
for being unthankful to your Mercy
and completely blind by the comfort of your Gifts

Ibnu Din Assingkiri Comments

Malaya Roses 11 February 2011

The poet is the man with commitment and embracing family institution to the best he could be. The poem was written with passion, reflection and experience of his life. This is the element that giving a soul to his poems. The poet wrote well in Malay; in fact his can be so simple and complex in different point of view. And as a friend, I could see his sincerity towards his poems and prose. He is very talented Malaysian writer with love, critical thinking and observant and none can deny it and I always hope he will be heard sooner.
