On my Grandfather's birth, you were 12 years old
saluting the soil, ridden with blood of martyrs
When my Grandfather reached the age of 12
you were a 24-year-old beaming young man

The wisdom of the mighty states
why should the enemy be killed
the enmity inside should be killed
And to kill the enmity
...

He hardly came across as the moon, the sun or the star
But contained within him a universe spread wide and far

With the heart writhing and mind stray, he traveled to and fro
...

ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵੱਢ ਕੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਹੱਥ
ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬੋਟੀਆਂ
ਥਾਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਰੋਸੀਆਂ
ਸਾਡੇ ਸਾਹਵੇਂ ਰੱਖੀਆਂ

he was filled with noise
When he interlaced the inner noise
