ਦਾਤੇ Benefactors

ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵੱਢ ਕੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਹੱਥ
ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬੋਟੀਆਂ
ਥਾਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਰੋਸੀਆਂ
ਸਾਡੇ ਸਾਹਵੇਂ ਰੱਖੀਆਂ
ਸ਼ੋਖ਼ ਅਦਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ
ਅਸੀਂ ਜੈ-ਜੈ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ
ਟੁੰਡੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ

They chopped off our hands
to pieces
and served them on a plate
to us
with such an elegance
We kept on applauding
with crippled arms
* * * * *
