If you need a small hug or a great big embrace

Your birthday falls on flag day, and that makes sense to me
Since you worked proudly for our country, from sea to shining sea
Your work it did make history, the books they will proclaim
So it makes sense to me your birthday would bring you so much fame

I know what you are feeling, I’ve felt it too my love
Our mother’s are now in heaven, looking down from above.
The sadness you are feeling, I know it is profound
And I know how hard it is, when others are around.

Rolling thunder the waves crashing in,
a light on the crest reminds me of when
whispering daydreams so vivid and bright
with in my dreams a miraculous sight.

It’s been 6 months since the funeral
Seems like only a week
2.5 years since our last fight
Why again couldn’t we speak?

She was a complicated woman
Emotions led her here
She loved her cats and nature
She loved to feed the deer.

Friendships like a two-way street without a passing lane
You can only go so fast and you really can’t complain
Friendships like those railroad tracks without a schedule
You never know when the train will come, and you’re almost out of fuel

I sit here on the couch and watch TV
Sometimes it’s the only thing there is for me
Fore when you’re gone there’s nothing here
But an empty void and a drying tear
...

Peety died and then I cried
I feel like such a fool
Instead of staying with him
I hung out by the pool

I thank the Lord for blessings He’s bestowed within the years
From the joys of daily wonders to the sorrows and the tears
He’s guided me and helped me along life’s narrow lane
