Kathryn Brookins Poems

I think of you often, more often then I should,
thinking about how you held me in a way only you could.
I miss you so much, it may be unhealthy as much as I do,
but my life is just empty without you.
...

I know how time can rock your world,
make time seem like your stuck in a swirl.
just stop my friend, and look around,
let yourself be still, and be bound..
...

Robbing the night of the light of the moon,
so some people are blind and others are swoon,
I will stay in my corner for out there is no more room.
...

Sorring high above all,
crying that high pitch call..
gliding through the air, light as a feather,
around my anckle, a leather tether.
...

The twisting and yearning is almost to much to bare..
I need you with me, I need you right here...
I feel the surge of energy, that longs deep inside,
I want your roller-coaster, I want your ride...
...

The warmth from your body keeps me warm all year long,
Even in winter, I sit in your rays and sing your song.
On the days you are hiding behind Brother cloud,
I cry out for you, with a voice, strong and loud.
...

As I walk through the earth, making my way,
I can hear the other creatures, and feel the wind off the bay.
Here I am free to be who I am, to roam in the open land.
feel beneith my feet, the cool dry sand.
...

I escape into the clouds over my head,
laying on the grass, a soft bed.

wondering about the shapes and pictures they make,
...

Hear the music as you walk the boardwalk,
also hearing those around you, chatter, and talk.
The breeze off the ocean is cool and gusty,
The nails in the deck are just tad rusty.
...

There is talk of cleaning up the Earth,
but we seem to start in other countries first.
Homeless people crowd our streets,
Parents with their children, no food to eat.
...

At the edge, I smell a fire burning,
in my soul a burning.
Turning thoughts go around and around,
my feelings make full circle back around.
...

12.

I breath the open air,
while on my back I can feel your doteing stair,
to turn around I do not dare,
I don't want you to see that I truly care.
...

Life moves swiftly through circles,
what starts, moves around and makes its way back
to complete the circles that are ever lasting.
...

To make a journey in life,
we need only to live,
To keep from stress and strife,
we need only to forgive.
...

The sun is hot and there is sweat on my brow,
There must be an easier way... but how?

Working from sun up to sun down,
...

My mixed emotions are tearing me apart inside,
I don't know what to do, being pulled in different directions..
This feels like a large rollercoaster ride...
my mind does not know how to choose the selections.
...

Getting all wrapped up in the times of today,
is not easy and my heart sits at bay.
People have changed, there values are not the same..
there morals have been displaced.. this is a shame.
...

Late in the night I rouse from sleep,
I feel you next to me, your breath sound and deep..
I take your arm and snuggle it around me,
getting as close as I can to your body...
...

I don't want to be here in society anymore,
my eyes are tired of being deceived and sore.
I want to walk in the natural of all things,
I want to be quiet and listen to the Earth sing.
...

20.

Time is patients and patients is time,
this is the inner wisdom, yours and mine.
the feeling of anxiety and frustration,
enough to reach from nation to nation,
...

Kathryn Brookins Biography

No one ever promised that life would be easy. And I am greatful, because it is not. But I have learned to weather the hard times and value the easy times. My life has been shuffled from here and there, and as an adult, I can finally rest my roaming body and do the things I enjoy. Writing poetry is one of them. I fell in love with love, nature, beauty, truth, and life at an early age.. and I have not stopped being in love with them either. One word spoken is in the next second in the past, not to be changed or taken back. So I make my words true, and count to the best I can.)

Missing You

I think of you often, more often then I should,
thinking about how you held me in a way only you could.
I miss you so much, it may be unhealthy as much as I do,
but my life is just empty without you.

I remember the flower you pulled over to pick for me,
the way you let me sit across your knees.
The way you played with my hair, and nesseled deep in my neck,
I can still smell your scent, that I never reject.

I see you in my minds eye,
the way we were in days that have long, gone by.
I remember cudleing close to you and feeling your heat,
listening in the silence to your heartbeat.

Feeling your arms around me and your kisses deep,
it is you I still dream of in all my nights sleep.

I look for you even though you are gone,
I try to find you in others, even though its wrong.

I know your in sipapu, I meet you there one day on my own,
coming to you as I was born, naked and alone.
to be reunited to my hearts love at last....
Life passes quickly.. I know it will fly by fast.
I long for you, and I dearly miss you,
when you come in my dreams, I want to be with you... honest I do.

Until that time we see eachother again, I will wait...
to be reborn with you, to grow again with you, to touch you.
