As I look around the room I see many different people, each is unique and different in their own ways. They are all built with different characteristics, different traits. They do not look exactly alike; they do not act exactly alike. They have different personalities and different ways of thinking, but they are made in the same image, the image of God. The emotions and feelings that consist inside this room, inside these people are so innumerable it would be impossible to list them all. Yet the emotion they long to feel is love. They each want to love, and they each want to be loved.
As life goes on people leave, people die. But when they leave, what is it that they have left behind? I asked myself the other day, “If I were to die today what would I leave behind? ” I realized that if something happened to me and I didn’t make it out alive, that I could possibly leave nothing behind, and this upset me.

Standing in the center of a hurricane
Paralyzed in the heart of a tornado
Feet nailed to the floor
Lips sealed

Head throbs
Bones ache

Head perched on fragile, white Hand
Long black Hair wraps around Neck and falls to Waist
Takes in a deep Breath of fresh Air
