030910 Sea Could Be Naughty

lone sailor paddling dingy
slowly skirting hull of a ship
arm with scraper and paint
a sudden surf causes spill
temper and cursing prevail
laughter heard from fantail

as if seagulls understood
quacks where she stood
kids passing by restrain
by elders happened then
i'm not far from the scene
i too feel something vain

i throw line to sailor below
to tie his dingy in a tow
not so happy we all know
sea is naughty, wants to
control anything floats
especially little boats
