i love the crackling of ice
when poured with soda
it gives off a distinct aroma
bubbly to sparkling, popping
a shear reaction of carbonates
that contributes to unique taste
i remove the soup tin lid
put the plastic cover back
and let the microwave decide
for two minutes of relentless
electron bombardment, nonstop
i can hear champagne pops
i position myself to good tv view
as i savor my vegetable soup
a good food after the pouring rain
how could i be entertain with these
countless killings, devils deed
rising gas and atrocious medicaid
