031710g it's sad looking at sick people

couple with luminous vest walking
brisk, fast, could be sweet talking
they wave at me with smile so do i
they have been doing it for a while
i know when i'm running late
by knowing what part of the lake
i pass them by, today i'm early

sailboat is still there anchored
very close to the shore, it has
been like that, sometimes it's
lighted, today it's so quiet
bicycle rider i pass 'em
with flashing light, i can't
figure out his true face
he always have glasses

ambulance is here again
at the halfway house
could it be scary, if you
live close by, it disturbs me
are they encroaching on my peaceful
existence, where's harmony here
it's sad looking at sick people

poet Emily Jane Brontë

I am the only being whose doom
No tongue would ask no eye would mourn
I never caused a thought of gloom
A smile of joy since I was born

In secret pleasure - secret tears
