so you can see me

so i could share my stories
you just smile and wink
i don't know what to think

instead i'm listening
you're so jolly, enthuse
your hands and spit flying
i have to wipe my face
you don't even notice
you keep going, going

i wonder if you ever heard
what words i say, i hear you
i understand every bit of it
