a long day at the farm, i know
i sit back to get a rest for a few
she came running at full speed
stop on a dime, raise her head
she kiss me all over, over my face
i rub her head, back to appreciate
sits beside me watching the field
as i rub her back so she won't leave
she won't talk, not everybody did
she sits, looking with open mouth
not hungry, could be summer month
she likes to swim in the river for bath
i fall asleep, she fall asleep too
her head atop my thighs, always does
then i feel tagging my shirt, kissing me
making noises but can't call out my name
it's noon time, lunch time, time to eat again
i'm still full, i must be there, they are waiting
***
that's my dog
