032711D beans in my soup
i look at these beans
almost identically shiny
one time in a green pod
braving sun's heat; wind
nurtured by earth's bounty
under our very caring eyes
now in small can softly sweet
with chicken roasted meat
subjected to microwave heat
i sit here savoring and thinking
could one of these bean sprout
and spread its leaves to light
