i keep walking, i see an oak tree
it's been there for years growing
twice as much when i was a kid
it keeps tabs of time embeded,
ingrain inside her, her huge trunk
a secret, to divulge it is terminal
i can't resist but admire upright
motionless living survive all odds
fearless against nature's wrath
i touch the bark a drying skin
shield from weather exposure
when cut, sap is her only cure
