041910a Coming Home

i heard the anchor roar to crushing halt
big thud pulled the bow to sudden stop
we stayed for long five minutes and pull
sail to good twenty miles then heads back
towards where we came from pier twelve
i see pretty landmarks appearing at horizon

as we get closer to shore water turns greener
when the sun is up and the clouds are very clear
today it's threatening to rain; overcast and fair wind
too much traffic by the channel; civilian cargo ships
lifeblood from hampton roads; ask and we have it
we deliver to you by train, air, truck, bus or come
