sonnet #9
2011

safe within my own tame shell
of hollow counterfeit dreams
like stricken polluted streams
living in a lonely hell
of cold dated memories
and those that wait to be lived
a brave new path not followed
for fear of uncertainties
my long pained search for meaning
Christ! what a poor sad mess-up!
time for a real deep wake up
a fresh start keenly seizing
as the sun sets it rises
a year for new horizons
