'4th Of July, Independence Day' Poem by Kevin Wang

'4th Of July, Independence Day'

i'd dock a boat
lay on the roof
nd wait...
there with fireflies in the distant
the beauty at bay
the works of art in the night
speakers booming
ground grumbling of hunger of excitement
there enters the music fanning through echoes of singing
of marching, of talking, of laughing

i'd spot by the naked eye
the brillance of the radiant colors that fills the sky
there on the balcony where i'd lean
nd there with the display
the exhibit of yet but 6 or 7 shows

what remembrance
how history springs back to life
active at day
the oo's and ah's at night
the cheery crowd of the day
the cannon fire by night
the remembrance of the day we won
the day where US was still standing

what i'd see
is yet discovered under the sea
the fragments
the beauty of the reflection of mirror water
sparkles twice
with the flick of the wand
tis magic
yet glows beyond those twinkling eyes
of yet of the big finale
of the final cry of the symphony
the final phoenix cry
the big encore of light and flights
until next year waiting, yearning as we sprout
I say farewell

cuz its u i'd see
and a smile on my face
I gotta go
stop writing for once
or i'd have no sleep
I miss u
but for now adieu
