A Body Heat Poem by Dorsey Baker

A Body Heat

we warm in winter time
body to body
heat to heat
together
each other touching
hot as fire
we become
our body heat
it climbs
as high as the heavens
as your body and my body
turns into
a wildfire
winter time cold
knocks hard
upon our door
trying to break it down
but is unable to get in
because our love
is so strong
it will not let it in
and we will stay
the way we are
our bodies touching
full of the fire
that can never
ever be put out
