I am a caged bird for so many years
The two legs are in tight chains
I always keep staring deep into the blue sky
And I wait eagerly for dawn of my liberty.
I agonize over this aching confinement
And go on hitting the door to open
I helplessly scream out for a hand of deliverance
But nobody appears to alleviate my travails and pain
Everybody loves and cares me daily
Delicious food served doesn't attract me
Sleepless night I pass with tearful eyes
No words of solace brings back my freedom.
For how long will this predicament last?
All around me are heartless, they enjoy my pains
Freedom is a birth right, why does it shun me?
Will be my life only for others’ sadistic delight?
Oh dear, please let me unchain these shackles
Let me have a deep breath and fly
Let me see the divine light once again
And search for an eternal bliss and love
