A Couple Thoughts At Hemlock Bar Poem by Joshua Bantum

A Couple Thoughts At Hemlock Bar

l.

First Drink:
Although theres life at this bar
Its beat is still
Dead,
Or close,
Or unfocused,
A moon behind the clouds,
A kiss with eyes closed,
Just enough to keep you searching.

ll.

Addiction:
Once a lime tree
Looks likes an endless supply,
Of chaser,
You have a problem...

Or,
A short-term
Soultion.

lll.

A buzz:
Mantaining you're alcohol content,
Is a metapshysical
Tight rope walk,
Fall one way you lose ur body,
The other,
Your mind.

Success:
The sweat of many
Always adds up to the
Triumph
Of few.....

.....About 80\20
Actually

lV.

Disconnect:
If you're ever lost
In a
Lonely bar,
Put your finger tips together,
feel your own heart beat.
And Remember,
Even the wise die,
There is no rush to find yourself.

V.

Pennys for words:
Ive seen alot of people tip, but fewer
Say thank
You

Vl.

True beast:
A deciet drunk is hard to narrow
In on,
He blends with the patrons,
But few
Patrons,
Would take home a prostitute,
Or become one

Vll.

Tattoos:
Most people ware problems on
Their sleeve,
But more common,
Now,
People ware them in their skin

Vlll.

Hindered beast:
Alcohol only brings out
The lonely animal
Inside the terrified,
socially self-restricted,
Human

lX.

For you:
If there was a word
To define every kiss,
Id imprint a novel across your skin

X.

Poertry: two
Poems are puzzles for the heart
To decode into
Words,
That after enough time
Mean nothing again

Xl.

The Perfect Vessel:
People are like sponges,
They soak up,
The type of matter,
They are meant to conduct

Xll.

Sex:
A yawn
Is a slap from
A tired
Lover.
