A Day Dreamer Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I am real illusory and day dreamer
Throw ball to player in the form of beamer
Act always opposite though things appear very clear
Think of impossible things to take place and come near

It is human tendency to wish for unknown wealth
To think of something to happen and play havoc with health
How can things take shape without putting on hard struggle?
How life can be injected in a person if he is totally incapacitated or unable?

Mind moves on in a direction where it has no limits
It will travel to and fro to occupy and inhibit
It has nothing to do with reality or facts
It has definitely no bearing on acts

I suggest people to be tolerant and patient
I come across youngsters and advise then to be obedient
I go out of way and try to be very lenient
I have found such easy way very convenient

It makes me a laughing stock
I continuously stare at ticking clock
Why time doesn’t stop and turn in my favor?
Why people, does not follow me with fervor?

I give my presence at every occasion
At religious congregation I am first for submission
At any sad incidence, I am there to offer condolences
I am at pain to learn later and witness such scenes

Such type of people don’t find favor
They may be disliked and never be called for
I stills remain ignorant and try to mix as usual
Such insults and bars doesn’t seem to be unusual

Are we not responsible for creating such scenes?
The displeasure and boycott is apparently seen
It is not appreciated at all levels and spoken of face
You may be termed half mad and pushed out of race

It is good to think in isolation for mental peace
It may provide some solace and make you to feel at ease
It may also provide good opportunity to search for some solution
You may develop insight before going for any revolution


Days for long struggle and sacrifices are over
You need protection and to run for cover
No one can you help you if you only dream
They may like only when it may lead to fulfilling their dream

There is nothing to dream of nice things for betterment
It may afford you time to strike at right moment
You have worked nicely and planned for its success
You may need rest and stretch your self for recess
