A Dead End In Life Poem by Keith Oliver

A Dead End In Life

I sit alone tonight
Under this star filled sky
I suppress the want to cry
With one more elusive lie

I ponder the moments
Where life takes you so high
Only to plunder the next
I’ll continue to ask these stars
For the guidance I need from afar

I seek for a haven of happiness
A haven that can’t be wrought
So I shall give it another thought
A thought of chance
For one last dance

Emotion against reality
Will always be an unbalanced war
The lessons I have lived
Have brought me to conjure this quality
This quality learned of life
Shall end in a quiet strife

For in conclusion, I shall realize
That this allusion I call life
Has been guided by the stars
The stars that betrayed me so
When all along I had no place to go
