A False Truth Poem by Simon Matar

A False Truth

Rating: 5.0

A true lie was what I had to offer
Not once but many times, a stupid lover

The reply always made me more suffer
Ups that made me smile, downs that were even rougher

You were such a player, a very unique bluffer
Used to forgive, excuse you, like a mindless buffer

Had no will, no strength, I thought it would be tougher
But you no longer resemble HER, you're out with no cover

To be in need, to make reactions are understood
but to jump and be an easy target is no GOOD

I wanted you to be honest, straight forward
All I got was lies in return as a reward

Your false truth always felt awkward
Things changed, acts only can undo, not a word

'Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me'
So shame on me 100 times
