A Flower To Auroville Mother-64 Poem by Indira Renganathan

A Flower To Auroville Mother-64

Azalea indica, Azalea indica ‘Inga'

Good hearted you are
And much artly too are

Innumerous Azaleas in thousands
You're one in many colours

Mistaken for a flower Indian
You're but a flower of Japan

Seasoned seasonal shrubby
Short potted homely springy

Common in pink and white spotted
Pale green to dark green leafed

Enough Just fed Just moist
Under trees for shade grown a lot

Ideal for beauty in houses
As semi sunshine in acidic soil helps

shrouding the foliage below
Large flora a prolific show

Good hearted you are
And much artly too are
