A Kidda Is Cat Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Kida is my special cat
I love him not to forget
I make all efforts and make him let
I love so much and try to beget

Kida is lying on ground
He is making painful sound
He stares at all and movement not found
He is not making any round

Kid used to roam all over at free will
He never went out for any kill
He was confining all the time at home still
He did not go for hunt or had any zeal

He remains trusted friend
For me he is there not to end
How many female cats used to please?
He was always there on lease

I thought kid may remain with us for longer than expected
He had wounds that got aggravated and infected
He used to rub it with his tongue and clean
It served as antiseptic and healing medicine

The animals have third sense to apply
They may respond positively and reply
You stare in their eyes and find the answer
This quality may lie only with fewer

This is how mankind and animals differ
We, as human beings, betray and suffer
Animals offer kindness and get in return
All love and care that is asked in turn

Why do we keep pets at home?
We have enough places outside home to roam
We can easily sleep inside on the thick bed of foam
Pets are brought in home not as loan

We get attached to them in no time
It is pure love and no crime
People inflict and commit cruelty
It is real shame on humanity


Love and affection generate from within
It can not stay inside as stone or confine
It has to come out in any form and express
They come to serve as surprise in duress

Whether love is shown towards animals or human?
It is good sign for man and woman
It may indicate kindness that is in culture
Love may flourish and make it wonderful in future

As Kidda laid motionless before my eyes
All moments in memory stand as passed by
Was it going to be a forgone memory?
Was I going to be a sad person and feel sorry?

I will take all care for him as animal lover
I stand for the term and am firm believer
It has deepest regard if you term it honestly
It has to be expressed and adhered to strictly
