A Mama's Boy Poem by Randy McClave

A Mama's Boy

Rating: 5.0

He enjoys to play and watch men sports
He might even drive a truck,
Maybe he pals around with bad cohorts
Maybe they punch each other in the arm, for luck.

He thinks that he's independent, but he's not
Though not identified with the Oedipus complex,
Even with the new lifestyle that he has sought
He was still raised by his mother, the opposite sex.

His mother alone raised him to be a man
But, not the type that his father would have chose,
To be obedient and loyal to her always, if he can
And whatever he does or thinks, she already knows.

Unto his mother he is forever bonded
This lifestyle of control she will always enjoy,
To his needs and wants she has always corresponded
He now becomes and remains a mama's boy.
