A Mask Of Perfection Poem by Stephanie King

A Mask Of Perfection

The need of perfection
Keeps us from revealing our true self
A fictitious self, one we aren’t comfortable within
But the poison of envy protects us from reality

We are not flawless
We are human beings, the consequence of impurities
The want to change is overpowering
Until it vanishes; gone forever
