A Mesquite Tree - Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Riding down the freeway, seeing a mesquite tree
crawling up a mountainside - almost to the top
of it.
Gently bent forward, making the upward climb
against all odds, knowing in it's roots it
would never really make it to the top.
