A Moment Of Happiness
by Mewlana Jalaluddin Rumi
Khushi Ka Ek Pal
khushi ka ek pal,
tum aur main baramde me baithe hon,
dikhai do den, par jaan ek ho, tum aur main.
jiwan ke bahte paani ko mahsoos yahan kar sakte hain,
tum aur main, sath me baagh ki sundarta
aur pakshiyon ka kalrav gaan.
nabh ke sabhi sitare hamko dekh rahe hon,
tab ham unko dikhla denge
duj ki patli faank sarikha chand ka hona kya hota hai.
tum aur main jab bekhud ho kar, mil jayenge,
idhar udhar ki chintaon se door, tum aur main.
swarg ke vaasi tote bhi yh dekh ke mitha khayenge
jab jab ham hanste honge, ek sath, ham aur tum,
is prithvi par ek roop me,
aur kaalnirpeksh us madhur dhara par anya roop me.
खुशी का एक पल, तुम और मैं बरामदे में बैठे हों, दिखाई दो दें, पर जान एक हों, तुम और मैं. Wah! kya baat hai! A beautiful translation of Rumi's poem. Rajnish ji, you have done full justice to this poem of love.10
Thank you so much, Geeta ji, for your kind words of appreciation. It means a lot.
A moment of happiness nicely painted, a beautiful poem...........................
Excellent pondering, brilliant expression, the lead and the end; a job well done Mangaji.
Sweet and that thoughts, it really a moment of happiness that i believe a reason why this poem was written and why it was chosen by Sir Rajnish to translate. It is a wonderful translation though i dont speak Hindi, i feel it through your english poetry lines. Thanks for this ranslation!
Rumi is a favorite poet of mine who expounds Sufi philosophy through his poetry where the man and the Almighty share a very special bond with each other. I am honoured to have your comments in spite of the fact that mine was a Hindi translation of Rumi's poem.
